Acceptable Use Policy
What may and may not be advertised through the platform, the network policies that apply on top, and what happens when something breaches them.
1. Scope
This policy governs what you may advertise and do through MediaPoint AI. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and applies to everything you submit: campaigns, creative, landing pages, keywords and targeting.
It exists for two reasons. First, we are accountable to Google, Meta and TikTok for every campaign we run through their platforms — a breach by one client puts every client’s access at risk. Second, some advertising causes real harm, and we would rather not carry it.
2. Network policies apply in full
Your advertising must comply with the published advertising policies of every network it runs on, in addition to this policy. Where they are stricter than this policy, they govern.
These policies change. Keeping up with the ones that affect your category is your responsibility, though we will tell you when we notice a change that affects you.
3. What we will not advertise
We will not run campaigns for, or containing:
- Illegal goods or services — anything unlawful in the jurisdictions being targeted, including controlled substances, weapons and counterfeit goods.
- Deceptive or fraudulent offers — including false claims about results, fake scarcity, fake reviews or testimonials, cloaked landing pages, and any page that does not deliver what the ad promised.
- Financial deception — get-rich-quick schemes, unregistered investment offers, binary options, guaranteed-return claims, and cryptocurrency promotions that make or imply a promise of profit.
- Unapproved health claims — miracle cures, unsubstantiated treatment or weight-loss claims, and unlicensed pharmaceuticals.
- Adult content — pornography and sexual services.
- Hate, harassment and violence — content attacking or demeaning people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or immigration status; content that harasses a named individual; and content promoting or glorifying violence, self-harm or extremism.
- Exploitation — content that exploits a crisis, a tragedy, or a vulnerable group.
- Infringement — use of trade marks, copyrighted material, brand names or likenesses you are not licensed to use.
- Malicious technology — malware, spyware, unwanted software, and deceptive download prompts.
- Data misuse — landing pages that collect personal data without proper notice and consent, or that resell it contrary to what visitors were told.
4. Restricted categories
Some categories are permitted but need extra checks before we will run them, because the networks impose licensing, certification or geographic restrictions. Tell us in advance if you operate in any of these:
- alcohol, tobacco, vaping and cannabis products;
- gambling, betting and lotteries;
- financial services, credit, insurance and debt advice;
- healthcare, pharmacies, supplements and clinical services;
- political, electoral and social issue advertising;
- legal services and claims management;
- dating and relationship services;
- weight management and cosmetic procedures.
We may ask you for licences, certifications or regulator registration numbers before launching in these categories, and we may decline if the required approvals are not in place.
5. Conduct on the platform
You must not:
- use the platform to advertise on behalf of an undisclosed third party;
- share your account credentials, or resell access to the platform;
- attempt to access data belonging to other clients, or any part of the system you have not been granted access to;
- probe, scan or test the security of the platform without our written permission — if you want to, ask at security@mediapoint.ai and we will usually say yes;
- interfere with the service’s operation or place unreasonable load on it;
- scrape, copy or reverse engineer the platform, its forecasts or its recommendations, or use them to build a competing product;
- submit payment details you are not authorised to use, or use the service to launder money or evade sanctions.
6. How we enforce this
Where we believe this policy has been breached, our response is proportionate to what happened:
- Ask first. For most issues — an unsupported claim, a missing disclosure — we will tell you what is wrong and give you the chance to fix it.
- Pause the campaign. Where a live campaign is causing a problem, we will stop it while it is resolved. You will be told immediately and why.
- Refuse or remove. For clear breaches of section 3, we will refuse the campaign or take it down without a warning period.
- Suspend or close the account. For serious or repeated breaches, or where an advertising network requires it. Your unspent balance is returned in accordance with the Terms of Service.
We will tell you the reason for any action we take. If you think we got it wrong, reply to us at support@mediapoint.ai — a person will look at it again.
7. Reporting a problem
If you have seen advertising run through MediaPoint AI that breaches this policy, tell us at legal@mediapoint.ai with the advertisement and where you saw it. We investigate every report. Intellectual property claims should go to the same address with enough detail to identify the material and your rights in it.
